This week's Video Riff features the main verse riff from "My Girl" as played by The Temptations. This riff uses the notes of the open position C Major Scale. All of the notes in this riff are played within the range of the first three frets of the neck, and because the riff is based on the C Major Scale, there are no sharps or flats used - all of the notes are "natural" notes from the Musical Alphabet. Pay close attention to your fretting hand as well as your picking hand to get the timing of this riff to sound right. Remember that you can SLOW DOWN the video and LOOP IT until you can get each part of the scale melody up to full speed.
